Japanese language has a lot of Useful greeting phrases.

Following japanese phrases can have a couple different variations and meanings.

And, You don’t have to remember so many words at the beginning.

Flexible phrases

Phrase when talking to the person you meet for the first time is Nice to meet you in English.

Nice to meet you is “はじめまして(Hajimemashite)” in Japanese.

In other words, Nice to meet you is “よろしくおねがいします(Yoroshiku onegaishimasu)” in Japanese.

And, You can also connect these words. for example “はじめまして、よろしくおねがいします。”

And, more casual word is “よろしく”.

By the way, Only “おねがいします(onegaishimasu)” means “Please” in English.

Apology phrases

Apology phrase is I’m sorry in English.

I’m sorry in Japanese has a lot of phrases are a lot of words.

For example:

“ごめん(Gomenn)”

“ごめんなさい(Gomenn nasai)”

“すいません(Suimasenn)”

“もうしわけありません(Moushiwake arimasenn)”

“もうしわけございません(Moushiwake gozaimasenn)”

The lower each sentences, it becomes more polite expression.

By the way, “すいません” is also used as “excuse me”.
