How to read カタカナ?
As I said in a previous article, Japanese has three writing systems.
These are ひらがな(Hiragana)、カタカナ(Katakana)、漢字(Kanji).
In hiragana, each character represents a syllable.
カタカナ has 5 vowels.
Japanese pronunciation is very flat and few in number.
Japanese character is consists of a combination of consonants and vowels.
So the following five vowels is basic.
「ア(a)」
This pronunciation is expressed character of ”ア”.
For example, It is used in the following terms.
アラート(Araat) meaning:Alart
アルコール(Arukooru) meaning:Alchole
アップル (Appuru) meaning:Apple
「イ(i)」
This pronunciation is expressed character of ”イ”.
For example, It is used in the following terms.
イラスト(Ima) meaning:now
インド(Ita) meaning:board
イベント(Isu) meaning:chair
「ウ(u)」
This pronunciation is expressed character of ”ウ”.
For example, It is used in the following terms.
ウルトラ(Uma) meaning:Horse
うた(Uta) meaning:song
うしろ(Ushiro) meaning:back
「エ(E)」
This pronunciation is expressed character of ”エ”.
For example, It is used in the following terms.
エース(Eesu) meaning:Ace
えび(Ebi) meaning:Shrimp
えいが(Eiga) meaning:movie
「オ(O)」
This pronunciation is expressed character of ”オ”.
For example, It is used in the following terms.
おう(Ou) meaning:King
おまえ(Omae) meaning:You
おんがく(Onngaku) meaning:music
These 5 characters are the most basic.
